Flour Should Be Simply Ground Wheat – Right?
When we think of flour, we think Ground Wheat, Right? …. This is not always the case! Our flour is simply Ground Wheat with NOTHING added, but what about the rest? This is why it is so important to KNOW your bakers and their ingredients!!
Did you know there are LOTS of Additives that can be added to even “Natural” flour?
- Our family does not believe in adding any synthetic vitamins, such as Niacin, Thiamine, Riboflavin, Iron, or Folic Acid. While some of these are good in their natural form, we believe they don’t belong in our ingredients in their synthetic form!!
- Fungal Amylase and Malted Barley Flour can also be added, which we WILL NOT add. Many of our customers have found they were not sensitive to the wheat, but rather the Malted Barley. Honestly, the Malted Barley in particular, adds a lot of perfection to a loaf of bread, but we are looking for perfection in our health and YOURS!
- Bleaching agents such as Benzoyl Peroxide and Chlorine can be used to make white flour, but not in our flour! Our flour is completely UNBLEACHED!
- No, there is no Bromate! Potassium Bromate is used in most major bakeries as it stabilizes the loaf and makes for a larger sized loaf too! We’ll stick with natural rising! We don’t need chemicals to help us along!
- Ascorbic Acid is in almost everything, and even in flour, but not ours!
Please note: These listed are all considered “Natural”, but we believe in going above Natural and ABOVE Organic! Our family believes in eating and giving our customers only the best so we can eat REAL Food the Way God Intended!
Please let us know if you have any questions! We look forward to baking for you soon!
Love, the Brunos
Hi,
I came across this post and have been wanting to ask about your high fiber pasta but, I haven’t been exactly sure how to word it either. So, please bear with me. I just am in love with that high fiber content! But, I’ll be honest, I’ve been a bit reluctant because is it seems to be not whole wheat (it’s a pale color) but it’s not clearly stated. And, I’m curious as to what exactly makes it high fiber. Like is it the bran or something else? Thank you so much
Hi Camille,
It is a naturally high fiber wheat. There is nothing added or subtracted at all! The variety of wheat itself is grown because of its high fiber content and there is no fiber added. 🙂
Thank you so much for asking!
