The holiday season is full of sweets and treats for most, but you don’t have to risk your health, just for a yummy treat! Thinking of these ingredients, makes you realize just how YUCKY these “treats” are!
Non Organic Ingredients
Being Certified Organic is an absolute must for any ingredient our family uses. Food that is not Organic can contain Artificial flavors, colors, and preservatives. Chemicals are used when raising the food that are known to cause cancer, birth defects, and many other alarming health issues. Farmers can even use Sewer Sludge on their crops, and it is used for human consumption – YUCK!!
Artificial Flavors, Colors, and Preservatives
We are barely going to touch on this one, as we all know how bad Artificial ingredients are! These are so bad, they are not even allowed in some countries!! Don’t compromise just for the holidays! Your health is worth SO Much More!
Corn Syrup
This one also goes without saying now for most people. We all know with all of the knowledge about health now, corn syrup, and particularly High-Fructose Corn Syrup should never be in your diet. Besides being heavily processed, it is horrible for your health! The high fructose content stresses your liver and can lead to insulin problems, diabetes, liver disease, and many more health issues. Thinking of that… It really isn’t worth your health!
Heavy Amounts of Processed Sugar
Sugar is not made to be consumed in large amounts. The average consumption of most Americans is absolutely shocking! Plus, most companies use concentrated forms of sugar that is heavily processed! We prefer to choose Alternative Sweeteners that are still healthy as much as possible, such as Dates, Maple Syrup, and Coconut Sugar. But on the same note, that takes us to the next point. Chemical Sweeteners
Zero Calorie, Zero Sugar sweeteners are simply NOT FOOD in our opinion. Clear liquids or white powders that are made in a laboratory are not good for your body. Many people are now linking these chemical sweeteners to digestive issues and other health problems. Your body IS ONLY MADE TO DIGEST FOOD! We NEVER eat things that are made in a laboratory, which takes us to another big thing we avoid…

Natural Flavors
These supposed “Natural” Flavors are in almost everything! When you begin to read the ingredient panel on the simplest items, you would be SHOCKED at what contains natural flavors. What is a natural flavor? Well, who knows besides the scientist who invented it in the lab, but some have been found to contain some pretty gross things!

Processed Oils/Fats
Processed oils cannot be digested properly by our bodies and do a lot of harm to your body! Our family only uses Extra Virgin Olive Oil and Coconut Oil in our bakery, as these are our favorite oils! Even our dairy free butter is made with these two oils only. We stay far away from seed oils
