Our Choice of CINNAMON

At times, we are flooded with the question – Which Cinnamon Do You Use?

We don’t follow health fads online but based on customer feedback there has been much controversy on this subject online.

At one point, we were flooded with

Can you please use Ceylon Cinnamon in your products?

Our family had only previously ever heard of and used one kind of Cinnamon. It is the same kind we have always known and used. What is this new Ceylon Cinnamon that everyone wanted?

We did source Ceylon Cinnamon and found that most of our family really does not care for the taste. It is more like a totally different spice in flavor than cinnamon at all, but as the requests came in, we decided to go ahead and try it for our Cinnamon Raisin Protein Bars, which were at that time a brand new product.

The results – We had customers begging to return them, and dozens of complaints on this kind of bar.

What’s worse? We have customers that have allergic reactions that are very severe to Ceylon Cinnamon but can Cassia Cinnamon.

This really got us thinking!

Hmmm. Our customers have allergic reactions to this spice that really doesn’t even truly taste like Cinnamon. Most of our family does not like it…. What is wrong with this picture?

God has given us an awesome place to go for all wisdom – The Bible! Did you know that Cassia is used 3 times in the Bible instead of using the word Cinnamon. Ceylon is never even mentioned in the Bible!

God loved us so much that He left us everything we need to know in the Bible. We choose to use His Wisdom, so we have decided to stick with the Cinnamon our family has always known and loved.

At the same time, we are keeping our allergic customer’s safe

AND keeping the same awesome taste our customer’s love!

We choose to not follow health fads that aren’t proven, and most of the time are a direct result of a company that is not selling enough of their spices!
